Wow! While searching on the Internet at
http://www.nfpa.org/riskwatch/kids.html and
http://www.safekids.org, I found some very interesting pieces of information. Did you know that a person can drown in only one inch of water? That is hard to believe! I am going to try to find more information about drownings since I have two young sons, 6 yrs. and 3 yrs.
What information did you find that was interesting or surprising?

Hi to all the kids in Ms. Chamberlain's Risk Watch group! My name is John Norton and I live in the mountains of North Carolina, where lots of folks have guns and like to shoot them in the woods all around us. During hunting season, we try to wear bright fluorescent colors when we walk our dogs! I work for the Alabama Best Practices Center and Ms. Chamberlain is one of our Internet experts. You're lucky to have her as a teacher.

While I was walking into my classroom on the 3rd grade hall, I was wearing flip flops with the big thick sole, I lost my balance and fell into the door facing. My forehead hit the facing and it busted a place about one inch long and about one eighth of an inch deep. Instead of the doctor using stitches he glued it together with a special type of glue. This was less hurtful, but it did leave a light pink scar.
